Roman Catholic.Parish Records
Roman Catholic parish registers for Moville from 1847 to 1866
The parish registers were started in 1847, and are the only formal source of information about births, deaths and marriages for Catholics in Moville until the introduction of compulsory civil registration for Roman Catholics on 01 November 1864. Even after 1864 there is some evidence that not all births, deaths and marriages were registered civilly, particularly in rural areas.
The names of the Sponsors (Best Man and Bridesmaid) are available for the marriage records. They have not been posted for reasons of space, but please contact us if you require the details.
